Support Request: Support for Windows 8.1 Store apps

Description

It appears that SiteKiosk for Windows currently does not support launching Windows 8.1 Store apps, nor Windows 10 Universal Store apps. Is this a limitation that can be addressed in one of the future releases, or is it strictly impossible due to inherent limitations of what Windows allows you to do? I'm asking on behalf of a customer of ours who is using SiteKiosk and would like to launch one of our Windows 8.1 Store applications from it.

Thank you very much for your time.

Hello,

Actually this is not possible as Microsoft did not provide the option to control these apps like EXE files (e.g. close them on Logout) in the past like it is possible with “usual” EXE applications.

But since Windows 10 this has changed and it is planned to implement the feature to be able to start Windows 10 Universal Apps (but not 8.1 Apps) in one of the next SiteKiosk versions (approximately with SiteKiosk 9.5 which release is planned for first quarter of 2017 – but no guarantee)
